Wise Child is a classic example of the compact ocean racers built for the SORC in the late 1970s.
Designed by Craig Walters, a veteran Sparkman&Stephens architect, Wise Child placed in the 1983 Sydney-Hobart race.
Subsequently rigged for solo offshore cruising, she's a head-turning, quick and comfortable ride to wherever you want to go.
Trusty, recently overhauled Yanmar 3GM30.
Running rigging, electronics, plumbing are new, between 2016-2020.
Raymarine instruments -- under deck autopilot, course computer, Axiom MFD, Vesper 8000 AIS, ICom VHF, Fusion stereo, etc.
Seafrost fridge, Force 10 stove/oven.
Shower/pressure water in head.
This is one versatile boat.
Lighten the load down below and you'll be faster than most around the buoys; add a few creature comforts, and she's a great coastal cruiser for 2-4.
Excellent structural condition, and fastidiously maintained.
Solid glass hull with three solid stringers on each side for stiffness.
A wonderful find.
Comes with original architect design drawings courtesy of Mystic Seaport Archive.
