The 36s was designed for serious seagoing, both above and below decks.
The balsa cored hull is a solidly built to Lloyds A1 standards.
The 36s is an aft-cockpit cruising yacht with high topsides, semi-flush deck has a large aft-cabin, a U-shaped galley and large forward facing chart table.
Compared to other cruising yachts the 36s performs admirably in all sea conditions.
With her owner modifications and upgrades Shiva is likely one of the finest examples of the 36s afloat.
Shiva's only owner has meticulously maintained the boat since being launched new in 1985 and has many upgrades including rigging, joinery, plumbing, electrics. electronics, cabin heating, refrigeration, deck and sailing hardware.

It has an end grain balsa cored polyester hull, with a non skid GRP deck, 6000 pound cast iron ballast, 36" steering wheel, varnished teak interior finished, sleeps in 2 cabins + saloon, headroom salon 6'-2", bed length front 6'-8", rear, V berth and sofa, anchor CQR , anchor 200' chain, electric windlass, swim ladder, Sunbrella cockpit dodger, lifebuoy, fire extinguisher 2x, liferaft (needs to be repacked), 2 bilge pump manual and electric.
Hull has been stripped and treated with epoxy barrier coating (2011), new upholstery, 7 new portlights (2014), 3 new deck hatches (2014), Sunbrella cockpit cushions.
